Local High School Students from the YES Program Meet Jennifer Lopez and Enjoy the Resident Headliner's Show at Planet Hollywood

Local high school students who recently completed the first-ever Young Executive Scholars (YES) program were treated to a performance of "Jennifer Lopez: All I Have" at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino courtesy of Caesars Entertainment and Live Nation Las Vegas. In addition to enjoying the high-energy show, the scholars had the opportunity to meet the global superstar backstage. The outing was part of the prize package offered to the student participants in YES - a program that united the project-based mentoring of Core Academy, powered by The Rogers Foundation, with the gaming-hospitality expertise of UNLV International Gaming Institute (IGI).

The impact of travel and tourism in Southern Nevada celebrates another successful year. The event was bigger than ever before in 2016, as Las Vegas welcomed a record-breaking 42.9 million visitors, including a record 6.3 million meetings and convention delegates, which resulted in an estimated $60 billion in local economic impact. The travel and tourism industry supported more than 407,000 jobs in Southern Nevada and generated $16.9 billion in local wages and salaries. On May 7-13, Las Vegas joined the U.S. Travel Association, and destinations across the country, in recognizing National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW). This year’s NTTW theme is “Faces of Travel.”
